Barbara Nanning

The versatile oeuvre of Barbara Nanning includes large-scale installations, ceramic and glass sculptures. Her large-scale installations can be found in indoor spaces, public area and in cruise ships. For many of her monumental commissions, Barbara makes use of advanced computer designs. Moreover, she has developed types of finishes and techniques new to the industry that can be applied in large-scale projects. She received many international prizes for her ceramic works using the unique, sparkling, velvet-looking coloured sand finish that she developed. Since 2000, Barbara has focused particularly on glass. She is constantly working with colour and light in a new manner, trying to capture the movement of nature by bringing it to a standstill; time caught in glass. Her work can be found in the collection of more than 70 international museums.
